THREE radioactive rockets capable of contaminating a city centre were offered for sale last week to a Sunday Times reporter posing as a middleman for Islamic terrorists.
The Alazan rockets, which have a range of eight miles, were among 50,000 tons of weapons left behind at an arms dump in the breakaway eastern European republic of Transdniester when the Russian army withdrew after the cold war.
They were offered to the reporter for $500,000 (£263,000) after he approached a senior officer in Transdniester’s secret police, claiming to represent a militant group in Algeria. The officer contacted a local arms dealer who arranged meetings with the reporter on a bridge in Transdniester and later at a hotel in neighbouring Moldova.

So why was MG being named jackass of the week? I read what she said and it sounded more like she's making sure everyone thinks about why 9/11 happened and why America is so hated. It's pretty dumb to assume terrorists are 'jealous' of freedom. There are many other issues that motivate them... Either way, worldwide polls don't lie, most of the world hates our ass, justified or not.

If everybody in the middle east were free of tin pot dictators and religious fanatics, the middle east would be as rich as we are, both culturally and financially. Women would be free to walk the streets, wearing whatever they wanted, and there would be tourism through the sacred thoroughfares.
If people were free in the middle east, they could follow their dreams, and might even stop praying 5 times a day.
Hopefully someday, the people of the middle east will rise up and tell the mullah's to vamoose and go back to their caves.

They hate social engineering far more than they hate economic engineering.
Northern Texas does blow because it's cattle country. East and central Texas is good for forests and hills, and West Texas is good for dessert. Southern Texas blows too though.

Overturning the established order? Last time I checked, it is our American duty to make sure that 'order' isn't abused like it is now. My thoughts that our government and corporations are corrupt does not make me a liberal, it makes me a patriot who cares how this country is run. As far as 'regular folks'...if you're referring to rural Americans: They are often under educated, underpaid and easily manipulated by our media/govt./corp. I grew up in rural America and I'm a city dweller now...I notice these differences like night and day. I don't feel threatened by traditions and values as long as they aren't racist, suppressive or harmful to others. I am harsh and pointed with my insults, but I don't really hold 'regular folks' in contempt. I think most people are lazy and ignorant, but I don't blame them...it's human nature! As long as everyone's water runs, food is on the table and the TV buzzes away, everyone is comfortable. That's why 9/11 was such a spank. People usually don't take action unless their way of life is threatened. Yes, our nation's poorest elect our nations' richest...and those leaders say one thing, do another and the poor keep getting poorer. What do you think is a solution? Maybe I'll venture into other parts of Texas someday. Maybe my next road trip?

It wasn't a girl that was killed, it was a brave young man (atleast according to that article.) who had the courage to turn peole in.
It takes great courage to do the right thing, even when you know you'll be killed for doing it.
As for the bulldozers razing a house, it's a collosal waste of resources, because that house could have been seized and used to house the poor, or turned into a medical facility, or even a clinic.

Update on Online Counterterrorism

Werewolf. I'll also include this in the
original post, just to clarify.
I would like to make one slight correction which I consider important-- it turns out that the FBI was NOT sitting on its hands "doing diddly squat" as I originally thought.
When Werewolf first e-mailed me he was pretty ticked off. He had alerted the FBI about the suspected terrorist. They had seemed less than interested.
One of the agents told me that I may think nothing was happening during those weeks when I didn't hear from them after I'd alerted them, but in fact a lot was going on behind the scenes. Actually, during that time, apparently the guy was being apprehended. So the last thing I want to do is seem annoyed in any way with the Feds! I think they deserve some enthusiastic thanks and appreciation, they are doing a great job. Especially since in their line of work, they can never get any recognition for what they do. In short, this was NOT a case of someone getting them off their duffs, etc, if you understand me.
Seriously, this makes me feel a whole lot better about the FBI.
Secondly, we have no way of knowing if my emails or my alerting of the FBI actually led to his capture. They may have been watching him for a long time already and just needed an excuse, etc. I have no idea. Just wanted to make it clear that I am not taking credit for that.
Ok, I just wanted to put this out in the open so that the story is clear.
In any event Werewolf deserves a lot of credit for helping nab this guy.

If these idiots think they'll run me out of MY home and country they've got another thing coming. Hell, the Brits are leaving in droves to move to other countries in Europe because of interest rates, taxes and maybe even the Muslim faction. The reason many say they're leaving is that they're tired of immigrants coming to the UK and not integrating with the population and learning the local customs, etc. Then what do they do? The Brits move to another country, cluster around those like themselves and don't integrate or learn the local customs, etc.

I think this story is overhyped: 50,000 emigrants from a population of 16,000,000 doesn't amount to "droves." I also think it is significant that most are headed to Canada, Austrailia, and New Zealand which are all closer to welfare states than the US. What is more interesting is the reported figure that 28% are *thinking* of leaving. I have no idea how accurate that figure is.

If I were in an unstable country, I would make effort to get rid of the people making the country even more unstable with ideas and protests that seem utterly ridiculous to me.
The majority might be thinking that if the Muslim "peacekeepers" leave, they will be replaced with "peacekeepers" from US. Having people of same religion, race and language occupying is way better than a culture and race they have hated since the crusades.

In an April 22 bulletin, the Department of Homeland Security warned hospitals that a string of people falsely representing themselves as inspectors for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations had visited hospitals across America at odd hours, demanding information about the inner workings of the facilities.

I can understand that, since most nuclear medicine rooms are wide open spaces, that are rarely locked, and rarely checked after hours. The only thing standing between terrorists and the matierals would be a sharp eyed tech or roaming security guard.

However, one probably needs to consider that maybe the city of Toronto just wants to develop a new image. If so, a few hundred whorehouses will likely do it.
By the way, to allay any mistaken impressions, it's beyond me as to what is involved in the holistic center routine services. I've heard of a "naked bootleg" in football, but "nude reverses" has me stymied. I guess I haven't been around the block enough times.

I saw Kingdom of Heaven last night, and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the pro-Islamic love fest I had feared, yet a lot of people won't like it because it showed Crusaders for what many of them were; vicious barbarians. It also showed many of them as brave, noble, and righteous.
Saladin (Salah eh Din) was portrayed in a fairly accurate light as far as I could tell. He was the greatest military leader Islam ever had, and probably the most enlightened. The fact that he showed his enemies more mercy than they would have shown him is telling, and is well illustrated in the movie.
We have to remember that Christianity was just emerging from the dark ages at the time of the Crusades, and not everyone was a plaster saint. Many men took the cross to find salvation, others took it to satisfy their lust and greed. The movie wasn't really about Christian versus Muslim anyway, it was about good against evil in the hearts of men. I liked it, and I might see it again.

Saw the movie last night, and the Europeans were a mixed bag. There were good and bad ones. But predictably, all priests are douchebags, as per formula. True morality can only be found outside the organized church is the message in this movie.
Unless you're muslim, in that case religion's fine. For instance, Orlando's character "lost his religion" and was nevertheless the most noble of the Europeans BECAUSE he lost his religion, or so we're to believe. Also, he claims not to hear from God and that God doesn't speak to him. So presumably even God isn't necessary for moral greatness, let alone organized religion.
The pep talk he gives his men before the battle purposely robs Jerusalem of any spiritual importance, and instead they fight only for "the people." Predictable. He ends up rousing the troops with shouts of "come on! come on!". Yawn.
While the muslims shout "Allahu akbar" as they march on Jerusalem. Yet they, unlike the christians, are portrayed as noble in their religious conviction.
Christianity=savage and corrupt
Islam=noble
Aside from that, the movie was pure amazing eye candy.

A little known group known as the Soldiers of Levant (Jund al-Sham) has claimed responsibility for Thursday's explosions outside the British Consulate in New York. In a statement published via the Internet, the group said the attack was "the start of war inside America". No-one was injured in the pre-dawn blasts which shattered windows at the consulate. Soldiers of Levant claimed responsibility for a fire several weeks ago at an oil rig in Texas.
"At dawn today, with the help of Allah, we placed two explosive devices in the heart of the enemy of Islam and of Muslims," the group proclaimed.
"America has already been hit by the Texas operation but despite this it maintains that that was not the work of mujahadeen. Today we announce the start of a war within and outside America and we will not hesitate at attacking festivities and cafes and hotels and churches."
There was also a threat to the United Kingdom - the New York blasts occured as British voters were going to the polls in general elections.
"As for you Great Britain, this was a special operation and a clear messages for you and the American people. None of you will be spared. We have already prepared for you the sword and if Allah wishes we will call on all the cells in America and start the battle."
Chad at In the Bullpen offers the case for why Jund al-Sham is probably not responsible.
Me? I've no idea. If this was an organized terror attack I think it says a little something about the organization. It seems much more like the act of a lone nut, maybe with the help of a buddy or two, inspired by jihad ideology.
On the other hand, Robert Spencer has been all over Jund al-Sham for awhile and has not yet dismissed the notion that the terror group was responsible for the Texas City refinery explosions.

Ok, let me repeat the case for why I think bin Laden, if still alive, is in Africa.
A) Because large swaths of Africa are militantly Islamist.
B) Because bin Laden would be welcome in many of these areas.
C) Because bin Laden believes that he has prophetic powers.
D) Because bin Laden first became aware of these 'powers' when he 'prophesied' that the might of America would be cut down in Somalia.
E) As a mystic it seems like the logical place to go.
That's the basic case. I could be wrong. Heck, I hope I'm wrong and that he's dead somewhere.

The same Jesus who forgives now will also sit in judgement. Are you comfortable that you can stand before Him and proclaim your righteousness? (Keep in mind, He never sinned, He never hated, He created the universe, He has power and authority over everything...)
I can't imagine standing in front of Him, mired in my selfishness, weakness, hate, ... sin. Thankfully, He offered _me_ the same forgiveness that He offered to the woman. All I have to do is accept it, then He will clean me up, and present me before His Father.
Anyone who claims to be a Christian, but "hates fags and kills innocent people" is a liar. However, any Christian who doesn't point out sin, and offer the path to salvation is hateful.
If I saw you heading for a disaster, but didn't say anything to stop you - wouldn't you think I was evil? Likewise, if I don't point out that sin separates you from salvation, and only the love of Jesus Christ can save you - I would be evil. Clearly, homosexuality is a sin - but so are all of the sins _I_ commit each day. I don't hate myself, and I don't hate homosexuals. But I want to offer them the chance at salvation.

RW: Correction--the Christianity does not condemn homosexuality, it condemns homosexual BEHAVIOR, just as it does immoral, promiscuous HETEROSEXUAL behavior, something a lot of people who tend to focus on homosexuals forget.

RW, you do realize that I am an atheist don't you? This means that I don't believe in any judgment, afterlife, reward, or punishment. I arrived at this position through many years of study, contemplation, and yes, prayer. I used to be a Christian, and a devout one at that. I read the Bible twice straight through when I was in Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm, and I read everything I could get my hands on about Christian and Jewish history and legend. I prayed a lot and tried to live as I thought Jesus might have found appropriate, but I found that the more I tried to become like Christ, the less of a connection I had with Christianity.
Christianity is the religion about Jesus, not the religion of Jesus. In fact, the real Yeshua bin Yusef was not very likely in any way similar to the mythical Jesus of Christianity. Jesus Christ is just a Greek name and title for man who was made a legend, and the legend was made a god. All the miraculous attributes given Jesus over the ages were at various times ascribed to other deities, and even Euclid, who was rumored to walk on water.
I have no problem with "neither do I judge you, go and sin no more", but what has that to do with Christianity? The more like Christ I tried to be, the more of an outcast I was among Christians. Most Christians I ever knew were hypocrites and liars and had no more interest in being like Jesus than the man in the moon. I have no problem with Jesus the wise teacher, my problem is with the lies and myths told of him in order to fleece the suckers and gain wealth and power for the conmen.
I have no gods, no devils. I am free. If I do good, I do so of my own free will. Is this not pure enough? If I do evil, does it matter why? Good and evil need no cause nor bear any merit or stain outside themselves. If there is a god, and that god is good, then I have nothing to fear. If there is no god, then I have nothing to fear. If there is a god, and that god is evil, then only his followers need worry.

I did see that you declared yourself an atheist. One form of rebellion against God is as good as another. Trust me, I am perfectly aware that us "Christians" are all hypocrits. Any standard of life that is less than perfect means that I fall short of my "goal" every day. It doesn't stop me from trying.
As for "all of the miracles of Jesus" being found in other myths and legends, that's an interesting "proof", but lacks a lot in terms of scientific validity. Could it be that the ruler of the world is trying to deceive you (and others) into justifying life away from the truth?
I'd recommend you re-read the book of Job (Old Testament). Here's a man whom God himself declares as righteous - yet he's not good enough to stand before God and plead his case. When you have to stand before the Almighty and plead your case - keep in mind Job's situation.

Recently a woman was stoned to death over there; when are these countries going to become humane? Saudi Arabia beheaed their 54 victim this year so far. twice as many as last year at this point of time AND WE ACCEPT THIS AS THE NORM??? And the US hates the fact that Predisent Bush is religious? He's a Methodist and his brother Jeb has converted to Roman Catholic. If you're an atheist, then you don't believe in anything. Do we want a president with no beliefs at at all???

American Hostage Abn Elias: Missing for One Year
I had never heard of Abn Elias until today and I pride The Jawa Report as a place where no American hostage will be forgotten. I feel a deep sense of shame for overlooking this man.
CNN International:
A year has passed since Aban Elias, an American engineer working in Iraq, appeared in a video on Arab television, blindfolded and pleading for his life.
There has been no sign of the married father of three since then, and his kidnapping is believed to be the longest of a U.S. civilian since the Iraq war began.
Elias, who is of Iraqi descent, is among at least five Americans the State Department knows is missing in Iraq. The group that claimed responsibility for his abduction, the Islamic Rage Brigade, has made no public demands for his release.

There are more names we don't know of and I only and I only heard his namn today myself. As hard as we've tried we really can't can't keep a running list because the list has been way too long and the media and others have not even brought the names to light. It's a shame.
